MVR was so great for so many reasons. The scenery was just beautiful and the fishing was great fun. Even though we were just beginners, the guides were so good, we were able to catch a lot of fish. The staff....there is not just enough words to say how excellent they are. Manu, Zach and Chef Matt are absolutely the best. I have never been anyplace where the staff made you feel so right at home. There wasn’t anything they wouldn’t do to accommodate their guests and make them comfortable. So thoughtful and gracious.
My business associates and I stayed at MVR June 13th through June 16th 2017 and had an absolute ball! The staff; Parker, Manu, Zach and Matt made our stay exceptional! I had been out in 2015 and had a marvelous time and this time was better. If you are looking for fun fishing and great food and comradery check out MVR, you will not be disappointed!
Had an awesome time at the Madison Valley Ranch!! Manu and other members of the staff were outstanding and made us feel like family. Everything, including the food, amenities, fishing guides and room accommodations were exceptional. We had two different fishing guides - both were excellent and enjoyable to spend time with. I highly recommend MVR to anyone.
Arriving at MVR, I immediately knew it was going to be one those experiences that will leave you with - "I want to come back!" Not enough positive can be said about the fine attention to detail that the entire staff at MVR provides. If you want to have more than just a Montana trip, stay at Madison Valley Ranch.
You will not be disappointed in staying at this lodge. The staff pay attention to the finest details and the food is amazing. I would rank this as one of the best lodges I've ever stayed in.
I can't speak highly enough of my most recent experience at the Madison Valley Ranch (April 22-25). First time fishing pre-run off and it was amazing. From 55 degrees and fishing dry-flies to 30 degrees with 3-5 inches of snow! We landed 25-40 fish each day, nothing under 12 inches, thanks to our zen master and forever giving guide Brandon Struckman. The cuisine, fishing, and comradery keep myself, my family and my close friends coming back year after year. Have been a loyal client since 2005 or 2006 never missing a year and often times coming back multiple times in any given year. My family has joined me on some of my adventures at MVR and am proud to share that all three of my children have learned to fly fish with great proficiency on the Madison River. We even named our daughter, Madison, after the river that bestows such serene beauty and yet is so giving in producing wonder trout and memories.
Madison Valley Ranch is a dream come true for anyone looking for a first class fly fishing experience. The accommodations are comfortable, food is superb, hosts are professional and friendly and the guides skilled. The Madison river lives up to its reputation as one of the top fly fishing rivers in American. All in all, regardless of experience, a stay at MVR will delight you.
Terrific accommodations, food was over the top. Fishing was very good and the guides went out of their way to make sure you caught fish. My wife who is a beginning fisherman cannot wait to go back next year. I don't know how it could be any better. We will go back.
Wow where do I start. Immediately upon arrival I was warmly greeted by Manu. She gave me a tour of the facility and showed me to my room which had a wonderful of view of the channels section of the Madison. The view also include the amazing surrounding mountain ranges with their pristine snow caps. Parker invited me to fish in the stocked pond on site, and i graciously accepted being that i had not picked up a fly rod in 25 years and was anxious to shake off the rust. It was wonderful fishing in the pond as i caught several very nice rainbows. I enjoyed fishing in the pond each night after dinner. The food and service was impeccable at the lodge. Matt served some amazing dishes with tasty appetizers and desserts. The selection of wine was outstanding as well. My room was large and very nicely appointed. And as I mentioned, it had a wonderful view of the river. Zach saw us off each morning for our angling experience and helped serve a wonderful breakfast. Manu was very attentive and accommodating. My guide Gunner was outstanding. I had not been fly fishing in many years, and he was very helpful. He took care of all of the logistics, and all i needed to do was get my fly in the water. We caught many nice fish on the Madison including a cutthroat and a 22 inch brown trout! A great river. I traveled solo for the trip, but I have to say the staff made me feel at home the moment I arrived. Thank you Zach, Parker, Manu, and all of the MVR staff for an amazing time. Simply outstanding. If you are thinking about making the trip, quit thinking and just do it. You will not be disappointed.
A very supportive staff, experienced guides and delicious food made our trip to Madison Valley Ranch an unforgettable experience.
