Madison Valley Ranch had my expectations high because of the great reviews I had already read, not to mention the fact that it was an Orvis Lodge of the Year. But to say that it greatly exceeded those high expectations would be underselling my experience. From the moment we arrived we were greeted at our car by the extremely friendly staff, given a tour, given some lessons on basic fly fishing technique and made us all feel right at home. The meals were all unique and seriously delicious. The guides we had each day were extremely knowledgeable, fun to be around and great to spend getting to know. I would highly recommend that anyone who has any sort of interest in fly fishing to go to Madison Valley Ranch and make some incredible memories with the staff there.

As soon as we pulled onto the property -- I could immediately tell this was going to be an awesome lodge. Manu, Parker and Zach are the perfect hosts. From meeting/greeting you as soon as you get out of the truck to sitting down to converse over dinner, you can tell they, along with everyone else at MVR, wants your time there to be spectacular. The property is immaculately maintained, the food and wine pairings rank right up with the top restaurants you could find anywhere, their attention to detail is simply amazing. I could go on and on about the lodge -- but it's a place you need to experience for your self to have a true appreciation for this place. As for the fishing and their guides -- they are the best of the best. Brandon, Gunnar and Dave were all on top of their game and know where to find fish. They were all very informative and didn't let the less than perfect weather conditions (an on river blizzard with 20mph gust) slow them down and kept us on fish all day despite conditions. Book this lodge.. You won't be disappointed. I'm already planning my next trip back out there!

This was our 2nd year at the MVR, & it continues to be terrific! Could not ask for better customer service/hospitality from the whole staff. Food is delicious, cabins are clean & have everything one might need, guides are knowledgeable, & fishing the Madison in June during salmon hatch is a blast. Would highly recommend this lodge, & hope to get back there next year. Thanks, Team!!

As an Orvis endorsed lodge I had high expectations for the Madison Valley Ranch (MVR). My friend and I were not disappointed. The lodge itself is located in a beautiful setting with the Madison River, a large pond and stream on the property. The pond was full of rainbows averaging 18 to we'll over 20 inches. They're not that easy to catch, but a great way to warm up or cool down from a drift on the Madison. The lodge itself is beautiful, from the family style dining room, living room area, and upstairs entertainment room. There's a fully stocked tackle shop with gear and fly fishing clothing. The shop is left open 24/7 for you to borrow the many rigged up fly rods for use on the property. You may purchase fly fishing clothing and gear you may need there as well. just write down any items on the numerous clip boards at the lodge and purchases will be added to your bill. Also, snacks, beer (great local micro brews) and wine are available 24/7 in the dining room. I can go on and on. The most important thing that made this four night, four day fishing trip outstanding was the MVR staff. Zach, Manu, Matt and the rest of the staff made you really feel at home. They engaged themselves with all the guests and more than that they're fly fisherman. I would highly recommend the MVR to any level or beginner fly fisherman. It's also a great family vacation as well. There were several families during our stay and all were having a great time. You will not be disappointed in the entire fly fishing experience at MVR.

Madison Valley Ranch is a great place to vacation. From Manu and Zach our hosts to the chef and accommodations, this is a fabulous ranch. Great setting with wade fishing in the back yard and fantastic fishing on the rivers, this place is hard to beat! This was my fourth trip to Madison Valley Ranch and I can't wait until my next. (ps; the fishing guides are great too. We had Brandon for two days and he is awesome. We had 4 double hook-ups/landings on this trip.)

When a friendly person comes out to greet you by your name as you arrive at MVR, you know that that a sense of "home" exudes here. From the kitchen staff to hours spent daily with our guides, we felt as if we were part of a large family that seeks to make our time there meaningful as well as enjoyable. Despite the cold mornings, we managed to catch trout daily using Orvis rods and reels that landed, for me, a 22 inch brown trout and a 19 inch rainbow and many other smaller ones Meals shared with other fishers at breakfast and dinner brought delightful exchanges of our love for catch and release of trout and being in one of Mother Natures' beautiful valleys with views of snow capped mountains where the Madison River flows freely. Gratitude goes to all the folks who work together to make MVR a place to call "home" beyond the four days we fished there.

My son and I have fished together for many years and always look forward to our next adventure wherever it may take us. This year my son suggested Montana and so I began my research. As I searched on both Orvis and Yellow Dog the Madison Valley Ranch stood out from all the rest. The location, the lodge and its cuisine and of course, the quality of the guides. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and realized we made the right choice. The staff showed genuine interest in ensuring we had a great experience from the start and continued to exceeded our expectations throughout the week. Our guide was experienced, friendly and displayed his knowledge of the Madison River as the weather and conditions changed each day. We cannot say enough about the Ranch and the other guests we met that week. It all made for a truly memorable experience which we plan on repeating next year.

OUTSTANDING in every way...hospitality, fishing, guides, meals, accommodations. My three sons and I stayed for 5 nights in early September. Manu and Zach and staff treated us like family, Matt's meals were delicious and guides Art and Rob were great! Everything they advertise is true. Could have used their equipment for whole trip. Fish pond is an added treat and fun. We'll be back!

MVR is for the serious flyfisher. Floats on the Madison are full day adventures with patient and attentive guides. We learned a great deal from each of them and caught plenty of fish. The food is quite good and the personal service is beyond excellent. Parker, Manu, Zach and the rest of the MVR staff are terrific. You will also find Ennis, Mt. interesting. How many places have more fly shops (4) by far than any other business?

Did a lot of research on Montana fishing areas and decided on MVR. Couldn't have made a better choice. The staff and our guide were so accommodating, attentive and caring!!! The river is amazing, and so was the fishing.
